Young adult voting member pre-assembly gathering
There are 77 young adult voting members to the 2007 Churchwide Assembly and they are invited to come one day early to participate in a pre-assembly gathering. This gathering will help young adult voting members to connect with each other and will provide opportunities for young adults to learn about churchwide ministries and leadership opportunities. It will also provide a context for understanding churchwide participation as a part of one's vocation and recognize and honor the service of young adult voting members to the 2007 Churchwide Assembly. There will be additional opportunities for young adult voting members to connect with each other throughout the assembly.

Affirming Young Leaders: Thanks be to God!

A gathering for young pastors, associates in ministry, diaconal ministers, and deaconesses of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America is scheduled for August 6 - 9, 2007 in Chicago. This four-day event will celebrate, strengthen, and enhance the public ministry of about 100 young rostered leaders who are expected to participate. The gathering includes conversations with ELCA leaders, networking, and Global Café sessions to explore vocational issues, health and wellness, and resources for support and vitality in ministry. Participants will attend worship and some plenary sessions of the Churchwide Assembly.

Limited to rostered leaders ages 31 and under, registration details can be obtained by going to the Affirming Young Leaders Web site. This event is being planned by the Vocation and Education unit of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.
