The Eucharist Coming of age, graduations, first job, marriage, birth of children, and death mark major events in the life of a Christian. What marks the flow of weeks, the changes in seasons, and the festivals of the year? It’s called the Great Thanksgiving, the Holy Communion, the Eucharist, the Sacrament of the Altar, or the Lord’s Supper. Whatever the faithful call it, it’s always capitalized.
