When Synods record their monthly gifts to the ELCA, they can use the ELCA Fund IDs instead of repeatedly writing a missionary's name or the designated fund name.  The seven(7) alpha-numeric Fund ID was created to help our processors with the daily posting. The Fund ID also helps the donor: instead of writing a project name such as, World Hunger the donor can write For WHG0001 in the memo line of their check, or for South Asia Tsunami, the donor can write For IDG0032 and the processor will know to which project to post the gift.

The first two character of the Fund ID refers to the ELCA campaign: MP refers to Mission Partner; MS refers to Missionary Sponsorship; ID refers to International Disasters, DD refers to Domestic Disasters, and WH refers to World Hunger, etc.
