Survey Instructions

Each seminary of the ELCA is to submit a graduation report annually to the Vocation and Education unit. This report has two parts: (1) a report of graduation statistics, and, (2) a report of the names of ELCA graduates by academic program. These reports are due by August 31 each year.

I. Report of Graduation Statistics
a. The number of ELCA graduates by academic program. Enter in the "ELCA" column the number of graduates who are members of ELCA congregations, including ELCA graduates not in a candidacy process.

b. The number of Other Lutheran graduates by academic program. Enter in the "Other Lutheran" column the number of non-ELCA Lutheran graduates. Include Lutherans from other U.S. churches (e.g., LC-MS, WELS) and foreign Lutheran churches.

c. The number of Non-Lutheran graduates by academic program. Enter in the "Non-Lutheran" column the number of graduates who are not members of the ELCA or other U.S. or foreign Lutheran churches.

II. Report of Names of ELCA Graduates
Provide the names of ELCA graduates, listed by academic program. The Office of the Secretary uses this information to update its education records for rostered persons.

III. Submitting Your Reports
a. To submit your graduation statistics report, fill out the form on the Vocation and Education unit website and click the submit button. This information will be automatically entered into our database.

b. To submit your list of ELCA graduate names for each program, send the list as an e-mail attachment to Sandra Mejia Vega. You may instead snail-mail a copy of your seminary's official graduation list, with ELCA names noted by academic program, to the attention of Mark Wilhelm at the Vocation and Education unit, ELCA, 8765 W. Higgins Road, Chicago, IL 60631.
