Wartburg Theological Seminary was founded in 1854. Since that date, St. Paul Luther Seminary (ALC), St. Paul, Minnesota, (1932) and Trinity Seminary (UELC), Blair, Nebraska, (1960) have merged with Wartburg. The seminary cosponsors the Lutheran Seminary Program in the Southwest, Austin, Texas, with the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago, and the Center for Theology and Land with the University of Dubuque Theological Seminary. The seminary also sponsors the Center for Youth Ministries and the Center for Global Technologies. The seminary is accredited by the Association of Theological Schools and the North Central Association.
