Founded in 1864, The Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia is accredited by the Association of Theological Schools and Middle States Association. The seminary includes the Urban Theological Institute and founding chapter of the Academy of Preachers. It is a member of the Philadelphia Consortium on the Study of Religion and the Philadelphia Urban Ministry Consultation, and it cosponsors the Interseminary Seminar.
