Lutheran Theological Seminary at
Gettysburg was founded in 1826 and is accredited by the Association of
Theological Schools and Middle States Association. It is a member of
Washington Theological Consortium and operates a House of Studies in
Washington, D.C. Its program includes the Town and Country Church
Institute, the Institute for Luther Studies, and the affiliated
Stewardship of Life Institute. It serves as the ELCA Center for
Diaconal Ministry. It offers an extensive program of theological
education for laity.
