Tools: $15 per unit. The above-ground tombs in the cemeteries of New Orleans are often referred to as 'cities of the dead.' New Orleans has always respected the dead, but the hot, humid environment is hard on the iron work and decorative materials on the tombs. Gathering youth will use special tools to clean the ironwork and bring the tombs back to life, so to speak, for generations to visit.
