STaR Ministry Advisor Network
A resource for lay leaders, clergy, synod staff and bishops ministering
in Small Town and Rural congregations.
What is a STaR Ministry Advisor?
A STaR Ministry Advisor is a member of a volunteer network of
experienced leaders who address the planning needs of parishes in small
towns and rural communities.
A STaR Ministry Advisor is trained to
assist congregations in dealing with community change. The advisor
provides guidance in looking at the congregation's history, assessing
the congregation's current ministry, researching community and
demographic trends, developing a vision for the future, and implementing
an action plan.
A STaR Ministry Advisor works with congregations to develop strategies
that will help them fulfill God's call to mission. These strategies
enable congregations to:
● Develop new ministries.
● Equip lay leaders for mission and
service.
● Cooperate and collaborate with other
congregations.
What are the benefits of using a STaR
Ministry Advisor?
By enlisting the help of a STaR Ministry Advisor, congregations learn
how to:
● Better understand their identity and
current mission opportunities;
● Identify community needs;
● Develop and implement a vision for
mission; and
● Put strategic plans into action.
