Ray Tiemann was re-elected May 20 to serve
a third six-year term as bishop of the Southwestern Texas Synod of the
Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). He was re-elected on the
fifth ballot at the synod assembly May 19-20 in Corpus Christi, Texas.
     Tiemann received 199 votes and the Rev. Michael C. Coffey, pastor of
First English Lutheran Church in Austin, Texas, received 157 votes.
