Invited by a synod, the Urban Team offers perspective and insight to the effort being made by the synod as it relates to their urban ministry.

This is not a "fix-it" visit with individual congregations. Instead, the synod identifies specific ministries on which the team will focus during the consultations. Together, the synod's bishop, his/her staff, urban pastors and laity, and the Urban Team map current realities, planning and how the implementation of urban ministry can be strengthened as the gifts of the wider church are shared among the local gifts.

The Urban Team then writes and submits a report to the synod. Within the first year, the team follows up with the bishop, his/her staff, and the congregations to check on the status of those ministries and the state of urban ministry as a whole in that synod.

Urban Team
The Urban Team provides consultation to synods, clusters of congregations and ministries, as well as provides referral to volunteer advisors who have specific skills for urban ministry needs.
