Seward
Peninsula Lutheran Ministries
Six ELCA
congregations serve Alaska Natives, five on the Seward Peninsula
(Brevig Mission, Nome, Shishmaref, Teller, and Wales) and one in
Anchorage.These Christians
maintain skills and disciplines brought forth from antiquity but
also struggle with modern society's most challenging problems.
They exhibit a strong faith and express a great love for the church and one another.
Living a
"subsistence" lifestyle with few paid jobs, they are
only able to support their congregations to a limited extent.
In order to provide
supplemental funding, the Seward Peninsula Lutheran Endowment
Fund was created within the ELCA Foundation.
Your gifts will support pastors' salaries, provide heating in
the cold of winter, enable children and teenagers to attend
Bible camp, provide Christian education materials, etc. Your
gifts will ensure the long-term survival of these vital, vibrant
ministries.
