Purpose and Guiding
Principles for Transformational Ministry
Purpose:
Engage teams of leaders in a transformational process so they engage
congregations in transformation for the sake of God's mission.
Vision:
Renewed, Christ-centered congregations which serve as mission centers
involved in what God is doing in the world. These congregations
intentionally participate in God’s work and invite others to see and
join with God in the work of blessing the world
Guiding Principles:
-
This is God’s gig.
Everything starts and ends with what God is up to. We get to be a part
of this work but we can never forget that it is God who is up to
something and who invites us to come along.
-
Meeting Jesus changes
people.
God has come down to us in the person of Jesus, a living
presence who continues to work in the world. Encountering this Jesus
changes lives and gives and sense of calling and purpose to God’s
people.
-
Changed people change the
church.
As the world continues to change, the church is called to
continually change as well. Leaders need to initiate change as a way of
being the church or it will not keep up with God or the world.
-
Changed churches change
the world.
God’s dream is not yet finished. In part, this is so God can
invite us in to be a part of the work. The church exists for others and
is sent out to be a blessing.
-
We have what we need to
answer the call.
If God wants us to do something, then God has given us
what we need to get started. The call brings with it a promise of the
gifts we need to be useful to God.
