Pastor
Michael Russell is developer for Jubilee Faith Community, an
ethnically diverse ELCA mission congregation start in Chicago’s
southwest suburban Country Club Hills.
"The excitement I experience in
this call is the challenge and wonder of being led to do new
ministries in new ways…seeking out and inviting people to a new or
renewed relationship with Jesus Christ…, developing leaders who
will also know they are disciples and, through serving others, will
use their gifts in God’s service. By using my own gifts as a
preacher, teacher, counselor, business manager and organizer, I
believe that I am a catalyst for people building relationships,
becoming owners and leaders in ministry, and developing Biblical
literacy through Bible study, devotions and worship. I think of
myself as a faith based, faith community organizer, inviting people
into a family committed to building and supporting ministries of
justice and wellness."
