How to contact the ELCA World Hunger Appeal

Welcome to the Open a World of Possibility children's Web site!

Thanks for joining this new, ELCA-wide tradition by participating in the 2003-2004 ELCA World Hunger project for children. This is the forth annual Open a World of Possibility project. The first two years of the project focused on a specific country (Bangladesh and Tanzania).  Last year, the materials focused on the whole continent of Africa.  This year, the theme embraces "God's Global Table."  We will "sit"  with the people of Haiti at their place at God's Global Table.

Here’s the dream:  That sometime during every school year, each child in the ELCA will join others on a special World Hunger "children’s journey."  Thank you for what you are doing to take your children on this year’s journey to Haiti.

We hope this Open a World of Possibility Web site will:

• help children learn about hunger in Haiti

• lead children to discover how their church is "walking together" with people there

• provide interactivity and new resources not available in the project's print materials

• encourage children to grow in their understanding of what it means to be a disciple of Jesus

• assist children in finding ways to help people in need throughout God’s world.
