Welcome to the Open a World of Possibility children’s Web site! 

Thanks for helping to launch a new ELCA-wide tradition by becoming part of the 2002-2003 World Hunger project. This is the third annual Open a World of Possibility children's project. Unlike our country-specific packets from the previous two years (Bangladesh and Tanzania), this year's materials focus on a whole continent, not the one people but many.

Here’s the dream:  That sometime during every school year, each child in the ELCA will join others on a special World Hunger "children’s journey."  Thanks for what you are doing to take your children on this year’s journey to Tanzania.

We hope this Open a World of Possibility Web site will:

• help children learn about hunger and AIDS in Africa

• discover how their church is "walking together" with people there

• provide interactivity and new resources not available in print

• grow in their understanding of what it means to be a disciple of Jesus

• find ways to help people in need throughout God’s world.
