White Pastors Serving
Multicultural Congregations:
Twenty-five pastors
of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) accepted an
invitation to
come together here for a consultation. They are white
pastors serving congregations in multicultural settings
in Atlanta, Baltimore, Cleveland Heights and Columbus,
Ohio, Detroit, Houston, Indianapolis, Milwaukee,
Philadelphia, and Oakland and Riverside, Calif. |

Indian Country in
America:
The American Indian and Alaska Native Ministries of the ELCA in
Cooperation with Communication Services of the ELCA and the Native Media
and Technology Network will produce a one hour documentary on the major
social justice events directly related to the History of the National

Assembly Receives Multicultural Ministries Report
CHICAGO (ELCA) -- At the constituting convention of the Evangelical
Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) 20 years ago, the church set a goal
that 10 percent of its membership be people of color and/or whose
primary language is not English. Today the church has arrived at three
percent, reported the Rev. Sherman G. Hicks, executive director, ELCA
Multicultural Ministries, at the 2007 ELCA Churchwide Assembly here Aug.

A Racial Ethnic Multicultural Event
