II. The Gospel Center Stage
III. Children Welcome the Christ Child

I. Eskimo Testimonies
Synopsis: One hundred years ago Lutheran Missionary
T.L. Brevig shared the gospel with Eskimo people on Alaska’s
Seward Peninsula. Today Lutheran congregations in Teller,
Nome, Shishmaref, Brevig Mission and Wales stand as a
powerful witness to the Gospel. In "Eskimo Testimonies,"
MOSAIC asked people to share stories and answer the
question, "What has God done in your life?". Their answers
were powerful and inspiring. Set amid the backdrop of
Alaska’s rugged arctic beauty, "Eskimo Testimonies" strikes
a chord by sharing a story of rural ministry and partnership
through ELCA mission support.
II. The Gospel Center Stage
Synopsis: This segment of MOSAIC shows Dr. Paul Harms
working with students at Trinity Lutheran Seminary,
Columbus, Ohio, on a theatrical production. Two main themes
emerge in this segment. The first is that a well-chosen and
well-presented play can be a way of communicating the Gospel
and can legitimately be performed in the worship space. The
second is that by learning to act, students who are
preparing to be pastors will be able to use their voices and
bodies more effectively in preaching and leading worship.
III. Children Welcome the Christ Child
Synopsis: In 1993 MOSAIC invited congregations to send
videotape of their 1993 Christmas programs. This segment
provides glimpses of Christmas programs from across the
ELCA.
