I.
The Catechumenate: A Sounding in the ear
Synopsis: "The Catechumenate: A Sounding in
the ear" looks at the re-birth of an ancient process leading toward adult baptism.
Tony Miles, a high school math teacher in the Pacific Northwest, was not a Christian. But
when his older brother died in an accident, the tragedy led Tony on a spiritual journey
and into the Christian faith through the waters of baptism. "I don't know why my
brother died so young. But there is a reason. There is a purpose," says Tony.
II.
Confirmation Reformation
Synopsis: "Confirmation Reformation," is the story of
cradle to grave confirmation ministry at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Mesa, Arizona. The
program links confirmation ministry to every aspect of congregational life. "Years
ago when I was confirmed parents didn't help with confirmation," says Sunday school
superintendent Becky Hampton. "Now with this program the parents are really partners
with the pastors, teachers and staff."
III. The
Best Way to Rock and Roll
Synopsis: Go back stage and then into the front row of a Jimmy Buffett concert in "The Best Way to Rock and Roll." Guitar and bass players Jim
and Peter Mayer are the sons of Lutheran missionaries. Their strong faith and witness to
the gospel in the fast paced world of big time rock music is an inspiration.
