Worship in the ELCA
Summer 2001 MOSAIC
I. Surviving the Worship Wars
Worship
is a big part of who we are as Christians. Worship can define us. It can bring
us together or even divide us. In many congregations, debate over questions of
style (traditional vs. contemporary), form, music, leadership, even attire can
escalate into "worship wars." How can we survive such struggles?
Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Schaumburg, Ill., is one congregation that
has not only survived but is thriving.

II. The Many Faces of Lutheran Worship
Is there such
a thing as "true" Lutheran worship? If so what does it look like?
What is worship like in your congregation? Chances are, if you ask 10 different
congregations, you'll get ten different answers. If you ask 10 different
Lutherans, you'll get 10 different answers! In "The Many Faces of Lutheran
Worship" MOSAIC's camera takes us on a whirlwind tour of Lutheran worship
here in the United States and around the globe. What you see may surprise you.

Forever." MOSAIC brings you a slice of this event through exclusive

Columbia, Md.; John D. Witvliet from Calvin College in Michigan; and Mennonite
