Preparing Servant Leaders to Promote Justice and Peace

Our History - a little about us

The history of immersion programs at the Lutheran Center dates to the devastating earthquake that struck Mexico in 1985 and the subsequent reconstruction efforts.

Lutheran groups supporting this work began visiting to witness the results and in the process were themselves transformed in their world views and faith commitments.

Now there has been another "earthquake" of economic dimensions perhaps not so visible at first but with equally devastating results for the poor. Once again people are rebuilding their lives and communities. Once again we are inviting groups to accompany this process and to experience a recommitment to the gospel of Jesus who lived in solidarity with the poor and excluded.
