Tickets for August 1st Dinner at the Coming of Age Gathering

Twenty years ago, less than
200 of the founding fathers of Lutheran Men in Mission gathered under the theme “Visions and Dreams” to launch a new men’s ministry, partially supported by the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, with the vision and dream that one day it would be a robust, self-supporting ministry of this church, changing the lives of thousands of men. That day has come.

August 1-3, 2008, men of all ages will gather in Omaha, NE, under the same theme verse
as the founders, “…your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions.” (Acts 2:17). We will celebrate 20 years of ministry and launch the next great step. Lutheran Men in Mission will continue to grow and become a financially self-reliant, separately-incorporated ministry of the ELCA.
Lutheran Men in Mission will COME OF AGE
.
More importantly, generations of men will come together in Jesus Christ. We will serve, we will play, we will learn, we will worship, we will encounter God – and each other – and we will grow! Bring your son, bring your friend, and bring your dad
                                    – join us!

Early registration discount extended to March 15.

David Anderson is Director of Home and Congregational Renewal for The Youth and Family Institute. Paul Hill is the Executive Director of The Youth & Family Institute. Dakota Road is a gifted group of musicians whose music and worship styles range from traditional to contemporary. Popular leaders at ELCA Youth Gatherings, Dakota Road has also been featured at youth and family events, and a
wide variety of church events. A long-time partner with Lutheran Men in Mission, they will be the “house band” throughout the weekend, and lead worship.
When Peter isn’t playing lead guitar for Jimmy Buffett, he’s often giving his services to Lutheran Men in Mission and other causes. He is a world-renowned guitarist. After years in the “pop” music world, Peter began to return to his
spiritual roots. “Stirrin’ Up the Water”, a collection of Peter’s Christian music, was released at the Lutheran Men’s Gathering in San Antonio in 2002. Peter continues to contribute 10% of the proceeds of that CD to Lutheran Men in Mission.

The NEW
2008 Spring Foundations Newsletter!
(In PDF Format)

Lutheran Men in Mission (LMM) is the men's ministry of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. We are building a dynamic ministry that addresses the needs of men of all ages. Statistics reveal that families and congregations are more likely to thrive when men are actively engaged in their faith.

LMM events are the focus of this issue of Foundations. We are planning at least six “Building for
the Future”
mini-gatherings in
2006-2007.
