Following the resignation
or retirement of a congregation’s pastor, interim
pastors provide Word and Sacrament ministry. The purposes of
interim ministry may include assisting with transition
following an extended pastorate, resolution of recent or
long-term conflicts, or assisting congregations making
significant transitions. This ministry is usually done
by a person who has received special interim ministry
training.
