Diaconal Ministry Formation

July 13-25, 2008
The formation event is considered integral
to the preparation of diaconal ministry candidates.
Ideally the formation event precedes seminary study and
will assist the candidate in shaping their course of
study and field experience.
Head of Staff Seminar
January 31 - February 3, 2008
This seminar is for pastors called to lead a ministry staff. There is a two-year curriculum.
You are encouraged to attend for two consecutive years.
Hein-Fry Lectures

This annual lecture series,
the premier endowed theological lectureship of the ELCA,
identifies key theological issues facing the church and
offers lectures that stimulate inquiry and discussion of
those issues not only at the eight ELCA seminaries but
throughout the church.
Ministry Staff Seminar
January 26-29, 2008
This seminar is for Associates in Ministry, diaconal ministers, deaconesses, associate
pastors, youth directors, education directors, music directors, etc.
There is a two-year curriculum. You are encouraged to attend for two
consecutive years.
Pre-retirement Events

ELCA plan members, ages 50
and older, are invited to attend pre-retirement seminars
conducted in partnership with ELCA synods, regions, and
the Board of Pensions. The two- to three-day seminars
are designed with you and your family in mind, and
include two individual consultations with
representatives. Spouses are encouraged to attend.
Transition Seminar
January 29-30, 2008
This seminar is is for those who have recently moved from one ministry setting to another.
