Submitting an article for online
publication
- Paragraph Numbering
Each paragraph in the submission should be numbered sequentially, the
numbers enclosed in square brackets, [1], [2], etc.
- Format
Authors are encouraged to experiment with the possible formats of the
Internet, including images (authors are responsible for gaining
permissions) and particular ways of presenting material.
- Style
Please consult the
ELCA’s
Style Guidelines for any questions of style.
- Documentation
Documentation should follow the guidelines of the Chicago Manual of
Style. Notes should be submitted in a separate file–once again, codes for
footnotes or endnotes will not transfer from a word processing file to
HTML [see 1 above].
- Bibliography
Please include a bibliography in a separate file. Do not abbreviate
titles of journals or books in your text or endnotes. Considering the
wider audience, full titles should be provided.
- Supporting Information
Please submit a brief abstract of 100 words or less and a copy of your
curriculum vita.
- History
Include, if desired, a brief list of historical articles which may be
of use and which we might be able to include with the essay. If you would
like to refer to church documents not already online, please have them
scanned, transfer them into a word processing file, and include them on
the disk with a hard copy of the document.
