Diversity in the ELCA
The ELCA Constitution
directs the Churchwide Organization to strive for inclusivity in all
aspects of its hiring. The goal is 10% persons of color.
Consistently since 1988, Churchwide Organization has had over 25%
persons of color among its staff.
Units such as Church in Society and
Multicultural Ministries directly deal with issues
promoting and encouraging diversity. The Inter-unit Staff Team on
Inclusivity promotes the beauty and learning that is experienced
through diversity within the Lutheran Center. |
