Training and Development

Training programs create and maintain a healthy and growing organization.  The ELCA training program currently offers:

Basics

  • Plan Changes for 2006 - Information sessions regarding changes in the Flexible Spending Plan and the Healthcare Plan for 2006 presented by Polly Bergerson from the Board of Pensions.

  • New Employee Orientation - designed to introduce new hires to life, work, and employee benefits at the churchwide organization.  It is required of all new employees.
     

  • Preventing Sexual Harassment - all employees are required to participate in a training focused on preventing sexual harassment.
     

  • Anti-racism Training - assists individuals to develop a common analysis and teach language to effectively address, confront, and dismantle racism.  This training offers a comprehensive plan of action that includes developing awareness, knowledge, and skills in responding to racism.

The ELCA also offers their staff training, gatherings, and events to give them a specific skill or life enhancing experience.
