Our goal is to find quality employees, interns and volunteers for the ELCA community. 

Human Resources assists churchwide units with their staffing needs by representing the ELCA to prospective employees through job fairs and university programs, and screening applications and resumes.  Assistance is also offered with position advertisement on the internet, in synods, colleges and universities, and in newspapers.

Our core volunteer program totals about 80 adults. The volunteers in our program help to assist the churchwide organization units.  Some examples of  volunteer projects at the ELCA include assembling packages for churchwide functions (i.e. Youth Gathering and Churchwide Assembly), archives, library assistance, mailings, and filing.  Those interested in participating in the volunteer program or who have questions regarding the program should contact Crystal Sumerlin at 773-380-2980 or click HERE to e-mail.
