Guidelines for the Global Mission Two-Year Program (GM2)
The GM2 program is designed for single persons, or in some instances a dual GM2 assignment may be available for a couple, both of whom have a work assignment. Often GM2 personnel are recent college graduates who are interested in an international experience before entering the U.S. workforce. However, early retirees who are interested in an international experience also fit the GM2 program. There is no provision in the GM2 program for dependent children.

The GM2 program is supported with provisions similar to some of those found in organizations such as Peace Corps. Some of the GM2 provisions include:

• Open to single persons and couples without dependent children
• 24 month contract
• Stipend of $675 per month
• A Goods and Service Differential provides equitable support among high cost and low-cost countries of service
• Full medical and dental benefits, with all insurance premiums paid by ELCA Global Mission
• Housing and all utilities
• International transportation and modest shipping assistance
• Student loan assistance - 50% reimbursement of student loan obligations up to a maximum monthly benefit of $200
• Service begins with an orientation program in July or January
• Four weeks annual vacation
• Two months stipend and BOP benefits provided upon completion of service
