"The Dividing Wall" DVD from the Mennonite Central Committee:

Meet families and farmers whose lives have been devastated by Israel's separation wall. Be inspired by Israelis and Palestinians who are working for a future of bridges instead of walls. This video explores the humanitarian, social and political impact of the Israeli-built "security fence."

Understanding Islam (Summer 2003 MOSAIC): What do Muslims believe? Who was the Prophet Mohammed? How does Islam relate to the Christian faith? The new issue of MOSAIC will help members of your congregation gain insight and understanding into Islam, which is a mystery to many people.

Islam is among the world's fastest-growing religions. Since September 11, interest in Islam and the growing number of Muslim neighbors in the United States has skyrocketed. MOSAIC visits the oldest mosque in America--located in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, since 1935--and spends time in the largest Muslim community in the U.S., Dearborn, Mich. The video includes interviews with Islamic scholars and Christian theologians, as well as people on the street.

MOSAIC comes with a helpful user's guide that makes this resource ideal for adult forums, confirmation classes and youth ministry.

"Through My Eyes, I saw people struggle and live in peace and harmony. Palestine has been overshadowed by political struggle with Israel, and its people have suffered from inequalities. By the grace of God, I was very fortunate to meet Christian brothers and sisters in Palestine. We shared together and celebrated the commonality of being Lutheran. I became a very close friend to Louna during my visit. We shared iontense conversations about the future of her homeland and the limitations placed upon her because she is Palestinian. Louna shared with me one evening, 'We are God's people no matter what religion we are; but we must respect and be fair towards other people!'" (Hmong G. Ly, 22, who is featured in this video, produced in 2000 by ELCA Global Mission.)
A Time For Speaking, A Time for Peace was produced in 1989 by ELCA Global Mission. Though an older video, the issues provide background to the Palestinian-Israeli struggle, including some source issues to the intifada that began in 1987. The core topics are still relevant to understanding the human dimensions of the conflict, the continuous need for a peaceful and just solution, and the role of the Gospel and the Christian church in the work for peace. Includes a study guide. 26 minutes.
after.gif (13133 bytes) After the Storm: Power and Peace in the Middle East was produced by Friendship Press in 1992. This video, still relevant today, provides an overview of the Middle East as a center of world history for 5000 years. It introduces some geographic, economic, political, and religious factors that have contributed to the permanent importance of the Middle East in world affairs. Includes a leader's guide. 29 minutes.
