Palestine Crisis
Evangelical Lutheran Church - ELCJHL
General church work

Palestine is the cradle of Christianity and the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Jordan and the Holy Land (ELCJHL) is the only Lutheran church in the region. The work of the church includes the support of six congregations (one in Jordan, the others in Jerusalem and the West Bank) and a network of five schools in the West Bank. The ELCJHL has done several things to enhance the rights of women in the church and society.

The ELCJHL also helps support the Near East School of Theology in Beirut, Lebanon, for undergraduate and graduate level programs in theology that provide leadership training for both men and women.

Your support for the ELCJHL will help:

  1. Offer quality education and Christian religious education to children and ELCJHL members.
  2. Extend the educational opportunity to the wider Palestinian community, both Christian and Muslim.
  3. Offer family-oriented worship and educational opportunities in an effort to keep Palestinian Lutheran families in their communities, congregations and homeland.
  4. Provide teaching employment opportunities for ELCJHL members.
  5. Provide a modest but vital Christian witness to the gospel to the majority Muslim community through example and commitment to service in the name of Christ.

Your contribution will assist the work of the Evangelical Lutheran Church as it continues its church work throughout the region. Send your contributions to:
