As a daughter of a pastor, I
have seen the ups and downs of parish ministry. We need to
spread the good news outside the church to draw people inside.
I feel it is my call to strengthen the church's global ministry in
order to build its inner ministry.
Christyn Hegele
Pacific Lutheran
Theological Seminary, M. Div.
recipient of a
Paul M Dauten Jr Memorial Scholarship |

|
I
hope to help the church grow and reach out to people
who have left the church or never found it, and to help people who
are already part of a church to rediscover a relationship with
Christ.

Theological Seminary, M. Div.
recipient of a
Paul M Dauten Jr Memorial Scholarship |

I
love to inspire others to work for something larger than
themselves and to help them create and sustain a sense
of community. I believe that I have not chosen this
vocation; rather that I was chosen and called to it. I have
accepted the call.
Michelle Townsend
de Mejia
Lutheran School
of Theology at Chicago, M. Div. |

I
hope to be a witness to God's vision for health and wholeness for
the church, and ultimately, the world. By nurturing
compassionate communities of faith, I hope to participate in God's
ongoing call for healing and transformation.

Lutheran
Theological Seminary at Philadelphia, M. Div.
recipient of a
Paul M Dauten Jr Memorial Scholarship |

I
have felt a call to ministry since I was in middle school.
I believe that the most exciting possibilities for my
future are ones that I have not even imagined, and that God has
plans for me which are greater than anything I could plan for
myself.

Lutheran
Theological Southern Seminary, M. Div.

I
hope to foster joy in our life as a church. I
have experienced God's quiet nagging, waiting for me to realize
that my gifts may be part of what our
church needs.

Pacific Lutheran
Theological Seminary, M. Div. |

I
understand how hard life can be, and I want to give others
comfort, guidance, and love. Sharing joy strengthens my
ministry and keeps the passion for Christ alive within me.
