Building Bridges Bulletin Insert - A resource that can be used in church bulletins or an organization's newsletter to assist in the education of parishioners regarding the 5 full communion partners and 1 interim eucharistic partner of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. Although there are a variety of ways to utilize this resource, one way is to print your tradition on one side of the insert and the tradition you are learning about on the other. This method will allow for the reader to compare the differences and similarities in the two denominations. January Term 2009 - For students in a Master of theology program at an accredited seminary. Journey to Geneva, one of the Ecumenical centers of the world, to discover what it means to be members of a global communion of churches and the implications this globalization has for ministry within North America. CROP Walk - 2000 communities in the United States participate in this effort to end world hunger every year. Also participate in events like the AIDS Walk or the Breast Cancer Walk. Celebrate Joint Communion - The ELCA celebrates being in full communion with five Christian partners (Episcopal Church USA, Presbyterian Church USA, Moravian Church, Reformed Churches of America, and the United Church of Christ). A relationship of full communion brings families together where we share the Lord's Supper, worship, and serve our communities for the sake of Christian unity. Celebrate Joint Worship - Worship with other denominations in Word and Prayer during special occasions, such as Thanksgiving, Advent, or Easter. Celebrate Inter-Religious Worship - Come together with your local synagogue, mosque, or other places of worship and celebrate your communities, festivals, and other holidays through prayer, meditation, action and scriptural reflection. Participate in Joint Mission Trips or Service Projects - Serving those around us is the responsibility of our entire community. Work with others in your area in projects such as homeless missions, food pantries, after-school reading programs, or reach out to others around your community.
