Vietnam - Prayer Ventures
For current needs
Gracious God, we pray for the people in Vietnam as they strive to rebuild a
broken economy and search for ways to improve their infrastructure in a way that
will promote growth and prosperity. Strengthen them in their efforts and help
them find ways to organize their economic system in a way that will promote
unity and long-term stability.
For humanitarian services
God of compassion, we ask for your unwavering guidance as we try to understand
how we might best witness and minister to those who live in Vietnam. We pray
especially for the Ecumenical Relief and Development Projects in Vietnam
conducted by the National Council of Christian Churches in the US (NCCC-USA) and
the Church World Service. Help those working in your name to aid the Vietnamese
in their time of need.
For church development
God of Wisdom, we pray for your continued presence among us as we seek to
improve our own churches in a way that might better serve you. Today we
especially pray for the large variety of church development and outreach
activities that are being administered by the Evangelical Churches of Vietnam.
We also pray for the Vietnamese Church Leadership Training program in Southern
California, that it might prove to pass along American traditions and
understanding to those from Vietnam. Help us all, both in Vietnam and in our own
congregation, to know how we may better serve you and carry out your will on
earth.
For healing
Merciful God, we pray today for the services provided through the Quang Nai
Rehabilitation Center which is supported by the Presbyterian Church here in the
United States and is facilitated in a government hospital in Quang Nai. Guide
them as they help Vietnamese citizens regain health.
For those serving
Great and Loving God, we ask for your continuing support of the work done by
your servants as they strive to spread the Good News of your everlasting love
and forgiveness. Guide them as they communicate in many languages throughout the
world and help them embrace the blessings offered by Christians everywhere so
that we might understand and pass on the diverse ways in which your love comes
to us.
For open hearts
God our Creator, you make all people part of your family. You make all that is
good in our lives and fill us with your everlasting love. Bless us as we learn
more about our sisters and brothers in Vietnam. Help us to embrace our common
blessing in serving you. Open our eyes to the gifts you give us in each other.
Guide us to build bridges between our cultures and our hearts. We ask these
things in the name of your precious Son, Jesus Christ.
