South Korea - Prayer Ventures
For the church
Merciful God, we thank you for the Lutheran Church in Korea and the mission
established there in the name of your Son where Christianity continues to grow.
Bless the Lutherans in South Korea and in our country as we work together to
spread the Good News about your love and compassion.
For current needs
Gracious God, we pray for everyone in South Korea as they continue to thrive
economically and seek to bring aid to their northern neighbor in such an
important time of need. Strengthen them in their efforts and help them find ways
to continue in prosperity, comfort those in need both at home and abroad, and
understand your will so that they might live in a more perfect balance between
your will in Heaven and your will on earth.
For those serving
Great and Loving God, we ask for your continuing support of the work done by
your servants in South Korea as the church strives to spread the Good News of
your everlasting love and forgiveness. Guide them as they communicate in
different languages and help them embrace the blessings offered by Christians
around the world so that we might understand and pass on the diverse ways in
which your love comes to us.
For relations with North Korea
Almighty God, we lift up all our cares to you. We pray for those in South Korea
who are separated from family members in North Korea and are unable to contact
the people who mean most to them. We pray that you might fill the lives of those
in despair with hope, that one day politicians, leaders, and supporters of those
countries might be able to unify the North and the South and bring together two
nations which have suffered tremendously by being apart. Help them to find
comfort in you and to know a day where you open wide the prison doors and set
free the prisoners of hatred and violence so that they might know true
happiness.
For church leadership
God of Wisdom, your insight and guidance fill our lives. Show us new ways to
understand your power and presence within us. Thank you for the Lutherans in
South Korea and for those who continue to share your message. Help those
ministering to the many members of the church, that they might understand and
share the Holy Gospel to strengthen your ministry in South Korea.
For open hearts
God our Creator, you make all people part of your family. You make all that is
good in our lives and fill us with your everlasting love. Bless us as we learn
more about our sisters and brothers in South Korea. Help us to embrace our
common blessing in serving you. Open our eyes to the gifts you give us in each
other. Guide us to build bridges between our cultures and our churches. We ask
these things in the name we name together, your precious Son, Jesus Christ.
