China - Prayer Ventures
For the church
God of grace and goodness, we thank you for the the survival of the church in
China despite its many obstacles throughout the years. We pray for a future free
from oppression so that the church might continue to spread the Good News of
your love and compassion for humankind, through the gift of your Son, Jesus
Christ.
For current needs
Gracious God, we pray for everyone in China as they work to build a stable
economy and provide jobs for the many rural inhabitants who are unable to find
long-term employment. Strengthen them in their efforts as they form new
relationships with Hong Kong and help them find ways to organize their social
system in a way that will promote unity and stability. Comfort those who have
been affected by the severe floods and have lost shelter, food, or loved ones.
For those serving
Great and Loving God, we ask for your continuing support of the work done by
those serving in China as the Church strives to spread the Good News of your
everlasting love and forgiveness. Guide them as they communicate in many
languages and help them embrace the blessings offered by Christians around the
world so that we might understand and pass on the diverse ways in which your
love comes to us. We pray for those serving in programs such as the English
Teachers' program, The Amity Rehabilitation Project (assisting children with
polio), The Drinking Water Project in Honan Province, and those providing better
care for orphans.
For global relationships
God of compassion, we give thanks for the diverse cultures you have bestowed
upon your people throughout the world. We rejoice in the fact that people of all
races and all backgrounds across the globe offer their own perspectives and
customs so that we might all have a greater understanding of your will on earth.
Help us embrace our growing opportunities to communicate with those who live
farther away from us so that we might form positive relationships with our
global brothers and sisters.
For church leadership
God of Wisdom, your insight and guidance fill our lives. Show us new ways to
understand your power and presence within us. Thank you for the Church in China
and for those who continue to share your message. Help those preaching and
ministering to the thousands of members in the Church, that they might
understand and share the Holy Gospel in order to strengthen your ministry in
China.
For open hearts
God our Creator, you make all people part of your family. You make all that is
good in our lives and fill us with your everlasting love. Bless us as we learn
more about our sisters and brothers in China. Help us to embrace our common
blessing in serving you. Open our eyes to the gifts you give us in each other.
Guide us to build bridges between our cultures and our churches. We ask these
things in the name we name together, your precious Son, Jesus Christ.
