Bangladesh - Prayer Ventures
For the church
Merciful God, we thank you for the Bangladesh Evangelical Lutheran
Church and the mission established there in the name of your Son where
Christianity continues to grow. Bless the Lutherans in Bangladesh and in our
country as we work together to spread the Good News about your love and
compassion.
For current needs
Gracious God, we pray for the people in Bangladesh as they search for ways to
improve the general living conditions in a country that is heavily populated and
in need of improved resources in farming and irrigation. Comfort them as they
recuperate from numerous natural disasters that have left many loved ones dead
and others injured or left without food and shelter. Give them relief from their
troubles and help them know that you will never abandon them.
For those serving
Great and Loving God, we ask for your continuing support of the work done by
missionaries and those serving under the Lutheran Health Care Project in
Bangladesh as the church strives to spread the Good News of your everlasting
love and forgiveness. Guide them as they communicate in many languages and help
them embrace the blessings offered by Christians around the world so that we
might understand and pass on the diverse ways in which your love comes to us.
For global relationships
God all people, we give thanks for the opportunities you give us to reach out to
others in this world. We thank you especially for the relationships being built
between Christians in Bangladesh and the Islamic and Hindu communities. Help us
to strengthen these relationships through dialogue and, most importantly, by
witnessing among them with the love and example of your Son, Jesus Christ.
For church leadership
God of Wisdom, your insight and guidance fill our lives. Show us new ways to
understand your power and presence within us. Thank you for the church in
Bangladesh and for those who continue to share your message. Help those
preaching and ministering to members of the church, that they might understand
and share the Holy Gospel in order to strengthen your ministry in Bangladesh.
For open hearts
God our Creator, you make all people part of your family. You make all that is
good in our lives and fill us with your everlasting love. Bless us as we learn
more about our sisters and brothers in Bangladesh. Help us to embrace our common
blessing in serving you. Open our eyes to the gifts you give us in each other.
Guide us to build bridges between our cultures and our churches. We ask these
things in the name we name together, your precious Son, Jesus Christ.
