Eiichi Matsushita (church executive and urban planner) Pastor "H" Matsushita
served on the staff of the Lutheran Church in America Board of American Missions and
Division for Mission in North America (DMNA) from 1963 until his death in 1984 at the age
54. Educated in Tokyo and Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, he was a founding member of Census
Access for Planning in the Church (CAPC), a consortium of denominations and church-related
agencies. He was instrumental in promoting the use of U.S. census data for long-range
church planning, concentrating on congregational spot studies and site evaluations for
DMNA.
