| The ALC Board of Missions and nine Mexican pastors organized the Mexican Lutheran
Church and founded Augsburg Seminary in Mexico City in 1957. The seminary became a source
of workers for mission, both in Mexico and in Texas. Graduates were sent to missions at
Edinburgh, San Juan and Elsa in Texas, as well as to other states and to Latin American
countries.
