| Right now MLH provides services in over 100 homes and more than 50 communities in nine
states, and employs 1,700 people. Tens of thousands of people benefit from these
services every day. In 1956, MLH moved to new facilities in Beatrice, Nebraska,
providing residential care and rehabilitative training, a school, a physical development
center, and the first workshop in the United States to be operated in conjunction with a
residential facility, and in the late 1970's, MLH responded to the need in Colorado for
residential care and training for persons with developmental disabilities.
MLH also provides educational/vocational training, day care for children and adults,
family support services, respite care, supported employment and the opportunity for
spiritual growth and development.
Martin Luther Homes continues to explore new ways to serve as our Lord's touch of love
for persons with disabilities and other special needs.
