Registration Information

Full-time Registration Fees

We are happy to report that full-time registration fees will remain at the same level as the 2006 conference:

  • $500.00 per person for a double (shared hotel room)

  • $650.00 for a single (non-shared room)

Your full-time registration includes:

v    Seven meals, including a banquet on Saturday night

v     Worship and devotional time

v     Networking – with professional Web developers

v     Ears open to your needs and concerns

v     Networking – with The Lutheran magazine staff

v     Inspiration for new ways to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ to everyone

v     Networking – with ELCA national communication staff

v     Free time to explore downtown Chicago

v     Did we mention networking?

*Round trip transportation for full-time attendees (up to two people from each synod) is provided by a grant from Thrivent Financial for Lutherans with ELCA organization (synodical or congregational) communication responsibilities. If more than two people from a synod wish to attend the conference, the additional people will be put on a waiting list and will be notified in early July if additional slots become available.

Air, rail or bus travel arrangements MUST be made through Best travel but only AFTER you have received instruction from the registrar to do so. Any transportation arrangements made on your own will not be reimbursed. Participants are responsible for all local transportation costs except where noted. Daily Commuter Rates

For those who wish to commute or do not need hotel accommodations, daily rates are available.

  • Thursday, with dinner - $50

  • Friday, includes 3 meals - $100

  • Saturday, includes 3 meals - $100; Saturday Banquet only - $50
    (includes bus transportation to and from hotel if pre-registered)

  • Sunday, with brunch - $50


Pre-Conference Events

ELCA Resource Center Directors will meet from 1:00 -6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 6, and the morning of August 7. Dinner on Wednesday, and breakfast and lunch on Thursday will be provided. The group will meet in part at the Renaissance and in part at the Lutheran Center. Housing for this event will be at the Renaissance, as part of the rooming block with the ELCA Communicators Conference. In you plan to attend this event, please indicate that on the ELCA Communicators Conference registration. Miriam (Mim) Woolbert, Miriam.Woolbert@elca.org, or 800-638-3522 ext. 2957, is coordinating the agenda for this pre-conference event.

ELCA Synod Assembly Planners will meet at the Lutheran Center on August 11 and 12. Housing for this event will be at the O'Hare Marriott Hotel starting on August 10 for those who will also be attending the ELCA Communicators Conference. The ELCA Synod Executive Administrative Assistants Consultation will take place at the Lutheran Center, August 14 and 15. Housing for this event will be at the OHare Marriott Hotel.
