| The Adventure Centers
will inspire a deeper commitment and desire to follow God's lead in
our own lives as highlight some of the key points in the story of
the Wise Men and interpret its meaning for our lives today. The five
craft and activity centers are designed to be a part of journey
though a Searchlight event. Ali, a playful personification of one of
the Wise Men's camels is featured in the skit "Ali, the Camel's
Adventure, Part 1 and Part
2 to introduce and monitor the adventures and
activities as participants which will culminate with a Searchlight
Celebration. A Program Planning
Grid (PDF file)
has been designed to assist you in the coordination of these
activities.
A visual aid is recommended to
provide a sense of continuity as participants move through the
various components of a Searchlight event. A series of
"snapshots" highlighting the Wise Men's journey may be
collected at each Adventure center and placed in which are designed to become game boards
for a during the closing.
Suggestions for a strategic
distribution of the snapshots are listed among other equipment and
supplies. The picture albums may be distributed during one of the
gathering activities or at their first Adventure Center.
