Welcome!

Greetings from ELCA Outdoor Ministry.  There is a lot of great information included here, so take a few minutes to look around.

International Camp Counselor forms have been sent out.  If you did not receive them, please contact Zara Tunstill.

Journeys for Youth and Young Adults forms will be going out in February.  Please look for them in the mail.  Complete and return them promptly.

The Web site for the ELCA is being re-done, so watch for a new Outdoor Ministry site arriving this spring.

Grants From ELCA World Hunger

Do you have a new program idea or activity that is focused on the environment?  There are funds designated specifically for environmental work and ELCA outdoor ministries have been invited to apply. It is important that the grant request demonstrates how the environmental project connects with the objectives and guidelines of ELCA World Hunger.  There is a March 14, 2008 deadline.

The Environmental Educators of North Carolina have named Mir Youngquist-Thurow the 2007 recipient of the Melva Okun Lifetime Achievement Award. Mir is the Environmental Education Director for the Agape Center for Environmental Education at Agape+Kure Beach Ministries in North Carolina.  More...
