WHAT DOES THE BIBLE SAY TO YOU?
Are you having, adopting, raising children?
Make a joyful noise to the LORD, all the earth.
Worship the LORD with gladness;
come into his presence with singing.
Know that the LORD is God.
It is he that made us, and we are his;
we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
Enter his gates with thanksgiving,
and his courts with praise.
Give thanks to him, bless his name.
For the LORD is good;
his steadfast love endures forever,
and his faithfulness to all generations.
Psalm 100
Train children in the right way,
and when old, they will not stray.
Proverbs 22:6
People were bringing even infants to him that he might touch
them; and when the disciples saw it, they sternly ordered them not to do it. But Jesus
called for them and said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not stop them;
for it is to such as these that the kingdom of God belongs. Truly I tell you, whoever does
not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will never enter it."
Luke 18:15-17
And, parents, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring
them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.
Ephesians 6:4
At that time the disciples came to Jesus and asked, "Who is
the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?" He called a child, whom he put among
them, and said, "Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like children,
you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Whoever becomes humble like this child
is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. Whoever welcomes one such child in my name
welcomes me.
"If any of you put a stumbling block before one of these
little ones who believe in me, it would be better for you if a great millstone were
fastened around your neck and you were drowned in the depth of the sea.
Matthew 18:1-6
Now every year his parents went to Jerusalem for the festival of
the Passover. And when he was twelve years old, they went up as usual for the
festival. When the festival was ended and they started to return, the boy Jesus
stayed behind in Jerusalem, but his parents did not know it. Assuming that he was in
the group of travelers, they went a day's journey. Then they started to look for him among
their relatives and friends. When they did not find him, they returned to Jerusalem
to search for him. After three days they found him in the temple, sitting among the
teachers, listening to them and asking them questions. And all who heard him were
amazed at his understanding and his answers. When his parents saw him they were
astonished; and his mother said to him, "Child, why have you treated us like this?
Look, your father and I have been searching for you in great anxiety."
He said to them, "Why were you searching for me? Did you not know that I must be in
my Father's house?" But they did not understand what he said to them.
Then he went down with them and came to Nazareth, and was obedient to them. His mother
treasured all these things in her heart. And Jesus increased in wisdom and in
years,* and in divine and human favor.
Luke 2:41-52
At that time Jesus said, "I thank you, Father, Lord of
heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and the intelligent
and have revealed them to infants; yes, Father, for such was your gracious will. All
things have been handed over to me by my Father; and no one knows the Son except the
Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and anyone to whom the Son chooses to
reveal him.
Matthew 11:25-27
