A Mile High Welcome

denver2.jpg (13430 bytes)The Mile-High City sent a big welcome our way.   Denver, Colorado, offered beautiful parks, majestic mountain scenery, and a wonderful collection of restaurants, museums, and cultural facilities.

The Colorado Convention Center was within easy walking distance of the three hotels that hosted guests to the assembly.  The Adams Mark Denver, the Marriott City Center, and the Hyatt Regency Denver, all full-service hotels, made our stay a pleasant one.

The assembly agenda was full, but we used the free time to stroll up and down the 16th Street Mall.  This tree-lined street hosted outdoor cafes, historic buildings, shops, and restaurants.  Just a block from the 16th Street Mall we visited the Lower Downtown District, a thriving historic neighborhood.   The area contains more than forty art galleries.  There was also  historic Larimer Square, or a carriage ride.  Denver was the place to be in August 1999.
