Tour 1 -
Indianapolis City Tour
Tour of
both the historic and new downtown areas, Indiana University -
Purdue University Indianapolis, White River State Park,
Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Indianapolis Art Museum, Crown Hill
Cemetery, Butler University, and Broad Ripple Village.
Tour 2 - Conner
Prairie Tour
Conner Prairie is a large, open-air
living history museum made up of five distinct historic areas, a
modern Museum Center, and over 1,400 acres of natural beauty.
Conner Prairie’s mission is to serve as a local, regional, and
national center for education and activities exploring the lives,
times, and values of the 1800s in America.
Tour 3 - African
American Heritage Tour
The historic Ransom Place Museum
showcases local Black history in the city. The Museum Without
Walls pinpoints exact locations where local history took
place, along with restored cottages in this historic neighborhood.
Buildings and houses date back primarily to the late 1800s. The
Crispus Attucks Museum showcases general Black history. The
museums have gift shops containing many items of interest and
collectibles.
Volunteer
Project
Lutheran Child and Family Services
of Indiana/Kentucy, Inc., is located on 22 acres of land about a
15-minute drive from the convention center. They are in need of
help on the grounds of their property. This volunteer opportunity
involves trimming bushes, landscaping, and some gardening. There
also may be the need for some light indoor painting and general
cleaning.
Transportation will be provided
between the convention center and the project site. Bring work
clothes.
Baseball Game
Batter Up!
Victory Field is one of the best new baseball stadiums in the
country. "The Best New Ballpark in America" seats 15,500
fans and serves as the home to the AAA Indianapolis Indians, who
are affiliated with the Milwaukee Brewers. Fans enjoy a beautiful
view of the Indianapolis skyline and also have a fun night
cheering on the local team.
