Morning Prayer began the day, enhanced by brass and woodwinds from the Lutheran Music Program.

Voting members start the day early but eager to get to work.

Electronic communication continues. The E-mail Center kiosks were stand-up places, but one in four placed the computer at wheelchair height. Some folks just suffer from sore feet ...

The Rev. Matthew Young and congregation members gratefully received the voting-member-constructed window, to be placed above the door to St. Peter Lutheran Church, Milton, Ky.

Upon being re-elected secretary of the ELCA, Lowell Almen appeared onstage with his wife, Sally, who insisted he smile. (Lowell plays a game of never smiling in public until the last day, and people work pretty hard sometimes to make him laugh before then ...)

The assembly voted to include closed captioning on the screens in the plenary hall, making it possible for people who need the captioning to see not only the captions but also the faces of those speaking.

 


As the assembly draws to a close, many people were concentrating on the parts of their anatomy that felt the most pressure ...
