. . .and experience the Churchwide Assembly's "County Fair" display area.  Explore the work of the units of this church through activities, games, contests, music, and photo opportunities.

Stroll down the midway.
Visit the barns and exhibit halls.
Enjoy shows at the grandstand.
Indulge in delicious fair fare (food).


As you enter the County Fair check out the Model T Ford at the Communication Station. Get your map of the County Fair and a special gift from the Departments for Communication and Information Technology. Visit the rest area and browse in our information picnic baskets. Place your orders for Mosaic, Lutheran Vespers and other materials.
Join the Division for Higher Education and School's Farm Team. Test your pitching skills! A well pitched ball will reveal information about ELCA schools, colleges, and universities. You're on your way to the Majors!
The faith of our fathers will come to life in the Country Church display, sponsored by the ELCA Archives.  Spend some time with the pictures and artifacts that remind us of the history and strength of our rural congregations.
Get the recipe for great women leaders. Share a favorite recipe of your own. Take home a jar of preserves when you visit the Commission for Women's "Preserving Places for Women in the Church" 
Come and play in the Board of Pensions Arcade, where you can play toss the hoop, test your strength, and receive prizes tied to the "retirement savings" theme.
The Grange Hall is where you gather under the theme of "Fruits of the Harvest."  People from the Division for Outreach and the Mission Investment Fund will tell you how you can be involved in "sowing, planting, growing, and harvesting congregations."  You can help to create the stained glass window which will be given to a new congregation.  If you are mission investor, you may dunk the "dunkee" in the dunk tank!
Walk over to the Post Office window in the  General Store to pick up information describing what Management Services and the Advantage Program can do for you. Throw stress balls into a bushel basket, or join in another of the variety of games that are provided to keep you amused and relaxed.
Step right up! and discover your Leadership Gifts.  The Division for Ministry will show you how! Pathways lead to points of discovery and challenge!
Have fun at the Pie Eating Contest, sponsored by the Department for Research and Evaluation, "Where the Church Counts!"  While you are there, take a look at their beautiful pie charts. 
Pick up your wild flower seeds  and Foundation Lollipops where you see the antique tractor. "Planting now, Harvesting Forever," is the theme of the ELCA Foundation.
Justice for Latino migrant farm workers is the focus of the Commission for Multicultural Ministries
How much do you know about the Lutheran World Federation? The Department for Ecumenical Affairs will test your knowledge in a ring toss game on the midway.
Receive a hand painted pin from Zimbabwe to remind you to "Stand with Africa," the theme of the World Hunger Appeal. It is presented by the folks in the Livestock Barn! The Division for Congregational Ministries' wheelbarrows are full of resources to inspire you to bring home the message of, "Congregations Alive!" Earn a blue ribbon from the Division for Church in Society. Join the Division for Global Mission's Quilting Bee, while learning how to walk with people in global ministry.  All of the quilts will be distributed by LWR after the Assembly.
Grab your fishing rod and step up to the Wishing Well, sponsored by the Women of the ELCA.  Take home your prize catch!  you will also be invited to become involved in "interactive devotions."
Come and "enlist" your support of our ELCA Federal Chaplaincies. We'll be at our County Fair Recruiting Booth. Look for a Jeep set up for a worship service. Meet our chaplains and learn about Military, Veterans Affairs, and Federal Bureau of Prisons chaplain ministries. Receive an ID cross.
Personnel resources are blue ribbon winners for congregations and synods. Come to the Department for Human Resources booth for position descriptions, tips for interviewing, performance reviews and MORE. Receive your own blue ribbon magnet.
Visit the Grandstand where you can tap your foot, clap your hands or sing along with a great entertainment line-up including a jazz band, the New City Parish choir and a barber shop quartet.
Relax with Augsburg Fortress at the Idea Fair while you sit down and enjoy a book in a rocking chair that has been hand painted by members of churches in the Indiana/Kentucky synod. See recent books, educational resources, periodicals, and worship resources. Receive a computer screen brush from the Association for Lutheran Resource Centers.
