Helen C. Frost, Missionary in Alaska

Helen C. Frost served as missionary to the Eskimos in Alaska from 1926 to 1961. She served in Teller, Igloo, Shishmaref and Sitka. A citation presented to her upon the occasion of her retirement from her thirty-five years of service summarized her accomplishments:

Through your consecrated service as nurse, teacher, social welfare worker, youth leader and spiritual advisor you helped make Christ very real to many people in the various communities in which you served. You gave of yourself far beyond the call of duty in loving service to the Eskimo people, giving a continuous and consistent witness of our Lord and Savior. People from Igloo, Teller, Teller Mission, Shishmaref, Nome, Sitka and other places will long revere your name and call you blessed.
