Dr. Anna Sarah Kugler, Missionary in India

Dr. Anna Sarah Kugler, 1856-1930, was the first of several women doctors sent as medical missionaries to India in 1883. (See Lutheran Woman Today, October 1989.) Here, Dr. Kugler (right-most group, third from left) participates in the groundbreaking of yet another section of what became know as the Kugler Hospital, Guntur.
